We take exceptional pleasure in informing you that in 2009 the University of Belgrade, under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, will host the World University Presidents Summit: Current Trends in Higher Education, which is to be held from April 2nd through 5th, 2009, at Sava Centre Convention Hall in Belgrade. The organization of the World University Presidents Summit, as one of the accompanying events of the 25th University Games has been given to the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
The University of Belgrade regrets to inform you that the FISU Steering Committee has decided to cancel the “Fisu Rectors Forum”, scheduled for April 2-5, 2009 in Belgrade, in light of current budgetary circumstances.
The University of Belgrade will, nonetheless, carry on with the organization of the World University Presidents Summit (April 2-5, 2009) according to the commitments previously undertaken.
Furthermore, we are very pleased to inform you that Mr. George Killian, the President of FISU, has gladly accepted the invitation of the University of Belgrade to take part in the Summit as a speaker at the Opening Ceremony and offered his full support to the University of Belgrade in organizing this event. We also expect Mr. Gallien to accept our invitation to take part in the Summit and take on the role of Chief reporting Officer of the WUPS.
Once again we would like to repeat that it is our sincere honor to host this important event and that we are looking forward to welcoming all our dear guests in Belgrade this April.
